Unorthodox Yrel Build

If you have ever played as, with, or against Yrel, you may have noticed that there is no talent diversity. Here is a talent build that is going to put Yrel out of her comfort zone from the solo lane into the role of a budget main tank (if played intelligently).

As someone who has loved playing Yrel and adorned her design from the very beginning, I am saddened to see her not be able to efficiently function as a main tank outside of the solo lane. If you don't think she was meant to function as a main tank, it says in her Hero description in the Hero select menu and in her Hero Spotlight trailer (tank implies main tank).

Have fun trying to peel a backline diver from your own backline!
Maraad’s Insight
After hitting an enemy Hero with a Basic Ability, Yrel’s next Basic Attack heals her for 128.
Maraad's Insight still continues to be the go-to pick on this tier.
Feel free to pick Dauntless if the enemies consist of a lot of physical damage that you need to self-mitigate.
Gift of the Naaru
Divine Purpose heals the lowest Health nearby allied Hero other than Yrel for 275.
All of these talents can be picked in the right situation:
Aegis of Light is a pretty good talent for protecting your teammates, but you have to waste your only form of mobility just to give your allies Armor for 4 seconds.
Even though Gift of the Naaru's healing was nerfed from 400 to 275 (Lvl 0 values), it's still a great talent to have in your arsenal when your team is unfortunate enough to not have a healer.
Hand of Freedom is great to have when an immobile assassin needs it most like chasing down a specific target or simply for retreating.
Samaara’s Light
While above 50% Health, gain 15% Movement Speed.
Samaara's Light is just a quality of life talent to have that I cannot resist not picking instead of the other dominant talents. This talent does so much for you, as to providing increased Movement Speed while channeling your abilities and chasing down lone enemies.
Sacred Ground
Yrel sanctifies the ground around her, gaining 50 Armor until she leaves the area.
Sacred Ground is often underestimated in terms of holding ground for your teammates to work with while you take the brunt of the enemies' damage in an effort to make you retreat. If they do blow all their cooldowns on you, good for them! At least your allies don't receive the damage you are tanking through easily.
Velen’s Chosen
Hitting an enemy Hero with a Basic Ability at maximum charge grants 10% Spell Power for 10 seconds, up to 30%.
Velen's Chosen has great synergy with the rest of Yrel's kit by providing extra damage and bonus healing if you picked Gift of the Naaru.
Divine Favor
Casting a Basic Ability reduces the cooldown of Divine Purpose by 2 seconds.
By the end of time, all your allies will never be low on health if you pick this talent combined with Gift of the Naaru at Level 4.
Activate to become Unstoppable for 2 seconds.
Enemy Heroes will often take advantage of your crippling weakness to crowd control while in the midst of combat. You can deny all their efforts by simply picking Seraphim.
