The Go-to Goat (Yrel Updated 7/8/18)

As of this patch, this hero is not a main tank. Perhaps in future patches she will be more flexible and actually fulfill the job of a main tank, but right now there's little reason to not play her as a solo laner as she is one of the best in the game, if not the best. She excels at early game bullying and scales into a super tanky threat with her lvl 16 and 20 spikes.

Strengths: super safe and punishing laning, unkillable body late game, provides extra utility to team with lvl 4 talents, manaless sustain with trait Q

Weaknesses: mediocre midgame spike, high learning curve, weak siege damage early
1
Maraad’s Insight
After hitting an enemy Hero with a Basic Ability, Yrel’s next Basic Attack heals her for 128.
Highest sustain and optimal for the solo lane. A must take at this tier.
4
Gift of the Naaru
Divine Purpose heals the lowest Health nearby allied Hero other than Yrel for 275.
All 3 viable and situational, easiest to get value out of Gift. Try them all out and learn to use them and you will be rewarded.
7
Divine Steed
Mounting is instant and grants 60% Movement Speed that decays over 3 seconds.
Makes you ungankable with proper usage and can double to increase your engage range. A hard talent to master, but more than worth it. Take Samaara's Light instead if you're not practiced with this talent.
10
Ardent Defender
Surround Yrel in a barrier for 3 seconds, absorbing all damage taken and healing her for 50% of the damage received.
You want to be mobile and hard to lock down in fights, making Ardent Defender the better choice. Yrel's playstyle right now does not make good use of Sacred Ground and much prefers a safety option of Ardent.
13
Aldor Peacekeeper
Enemy Heroes hit by Vindication at maximum charge deal 40% less damage for 3 seconds.
This makes Yrel much more survivable in the mid/late game. Traited Q's or just full charged Q's will nerf damage increasing the time you can stay in the fight.
16
Holy Wrath
After casting a Basic Ability, Yrel’s next Basic Attack splashes for 20% increased damage around the target.
Big power spike. This talent let's you 1-shot wave with E auto and turns you into a strong damage threat. With this talent, you can now threaten backliners by yourself.
20
Seraphim
Activate to become Unstoppable for 2 seconds.
Not too flashy, but proper use of this talent can make you impossible to kill. Pop it before channeling an E or Q or just to avoid a cc chain. With a 10s cd, this talent is rewarding even if you don't get value out of every cast.
