Dragonslayer Build

This build is meant for Artanis's new best friend, Deathwing.

Most of its power comes from aggressively dueling with the dragon, allowing Artanis to constantly maintain buffs that are normally quite hard to maintain. Without a Deathwing to fight, this build is nowhere near as consistent.

Anyway, this is a pretty fun build I've used against enemy Deathwing players. If you're looking for a fun Quick Match Artanis build that transforms Artanis into an immortal, dragonslaying berserker, this is the build to take.

The idea of the build is to sustain a very high attack speed, by farming attack speed buffs from phase prism off of Deathwing. Through the usage of some underrated Artanis talents, you can beat Deathwing into submission, while shrugging off whatever punishment the enemy throws at you.

It's overall a very fun playstyle that is so much easier to utilize because of Deathwing. If you're looking to play as an outnumbered, but undying bruiser who kills his enemies one at a time, this is the build for you.

Amateur Opponent
Twin Blades attacks deal 150% bonus damage versus non-Heroic enemies.
Seasoned Marksman is a fine option for this build, providing more direct synergy with the playstyle, with its damage and attack speed, however Amateur Opponent is always a great talent.

If you want to go all in on 1v1ing deathwing's, take seasoned marksman, but if you want to be more well rounded, with the pve potential, take amateur opponent.
Shield Surge
Increases Shield Overload's Shields by 75% while you are below 25% Health.
Shield Surge gives Artanis some amazing durability in this build, while buying him enough time to reset his shield.

Psionic Synergy may also be a good option, due to the prevalence of phase prism in this build, allowing for Artanis to very frequently have 30 armour.
Chrono Surge
Hitting an enemy Hero with Phase Prism grants 75% bonus Attack Speed for 5 seconds.
The talent that brings this build to life.

The attack speed buff you gain from landing a phase prism, provides Artanis with a powerful increase in damage, as well as a serious cooldown reduction on his shields.

The biggest issue with the talent is its difficulty to maintain, on top of phase prism being used as a crowd control tool, rather than damage tool.

Thanks to Deathwing, landing phase prisms has never been easier. This attack speed buff will cut through Deathwing's healthbar, while making Artanis an absolute juggernaut with his shields.

When landing the prism on deathwing, you will be pulled to his location, while deathwing does not get displaced.

Phase prism thus works like a Varian charge or Illidan dive, allowing you to constantly stick to Deathwing, as well as engage on him from a respectable distance.
Suppression Pulse
Fire a large area pulse from the Spear of Adun, dealing 114 damage and Blinding enemies for 4 seconds. Unlimited range.
Suppression Pulse is meant to give you an extra edge against Deathwing, mitigating his damage and allied damage, making Artanis even tougher to kill.

Graviton Vortex
Reduce the Mana cost of Phase Prism by 25. Hitting an enemy Hero with Basic Attacks or Blade Dash lowers the cooldown of Phase Prism by 1.75 seconds.
Graviton Vortex effectively provides a 100% uptime on the attack speed bonus of Phase prism. This talent is a huge power spike in this build, creating continuous shielding&attack speed.

With the high speed auto attacks generated by landing prisms, you will now constantly have a prism ready to throw at Deathwing, allowing you to stick to him with ease, while always having high damage and tons of shielding.

Just bear in mind, that you will be spamming phase prisms, so your mana will be more likely to burn out, the longer the fights go on.
Force of Will
Casting Basic Abilities reduces the cooldown of Shield Overload by 5 seconds.
These are all viable talents, it just depends on what you want.

If you want even stronger shielding, get Force of Will, it'll synergize nicely with the constant phase prisms and twin blade attacks.

If you're looking for more damage and kill pressure on Deathwing, take titan killer, to provide percentage damage to break through his armour.

If you want a middle ground between the two talents, take Blades of a Templar for an increase in attack speed, giving more damage, shielding, and the ability to slow and stick to enemies that are not Deathwing.
Plasma Burn
While your Shield is active, you deal 70 damage a second to nearby enemies.
Take Plasma Burn to maintain constant bonus damage, off of the many shields this build will provide you with. It'll put more pressure on Deathwing and his teammates, while synergizing very well with all of the previous talents that give Artanis more shielding.

Otherwise, upgrade your ultimate if you aren't interested in the constant shield damage.

Really nice build. I hadn't thought of him for DW counter. Will have to give it a try.
