Meta Abathur (NP Builds)

There are usually tons of variants that are Meta, these are the meta builds I recommend for competitive and storm league. With the variations I recommend depending on your skill and ranks. (For abathur in particular, this is the meta build. Does that mean you can't make mine or push build work? No, they can work, this is just the meta build.)

The biggest thing to remember on abathur is that his body summons minions that push lanes and his body can soak. He works best on maps where objective spawn really far from a lane so you can soak the experience from the lane while teams fight over objectives. I recommend always drafting a clone target if you can (someone with strong untalented basic abilities like jaina greymane or liming) Clone at the start of fights, try to trade 1 for 1 then continue assisting your team by shielding either a diver or a tank with the highest priority and healers and backliners only if they are being dived. Use mines for vision but triple mine a backline of a wave can wipe it. Level 10 is your biggest power spike, level 13 is your next biggest. Do your best to focus on safe experience by soaking with your hat and body to get to level 10 ASAP. Aba is not a solo laner.

NotParadox here, I have coached players from Bronze to Grandmaster, I have officially done over 800 coaching sessions (as of making this). I have coached teams in every division of play include professional teams. I was also an analyst for teams throughout HGC. I run the largest educational youtube channel for HotS. And have casted professional games of Heroes of the Storm. I am doing a challenge to make a guide for every hero in the game to show builds that are not only viable, but also can crush it in the meta.

Pressurized Glands
Increases the range of Symbiote's Spike Burst by 25% and decreases the cooldown by 1 second.
Glands is picked up to syngergize with the level 13 talent, his best powerspike. Shield is picked here and there when you have a valla that you are hatting, but he is outclassed by tassadar if you just want to be a backpack hero.
Prolific Dispersal
Increase the range of Toxic Nest by 30%. Reduces the cooldown of Toxic Nest by 2 seconds and adds 2 additional charges.
While the attack speed is nice, he is most valuable switching targets to who needs it and who you can get the most value out of abilities making that talent not great. Extra mines allows you to clean up camps on your own, wipe waves quickly, and cover the map in vision. Great for all ranks.
Calldown: MULE
Activate to calldown a Mule that repairs Structures, one at a time, near target point for 40 seconds, healing for 90 Health every 1 second.
Mule prevents the early death of forts. Because of the new experience scaling the longer you can prevent the death the more experience you cost the enemies.
Ultimate Evolution
Clone target allied Hero and control it for 20 seconds. Abathur has perfected the clone, granting it 20% Ability Power, 20% bonus Attack Damage, and 10% bonus Movement Speed. Cannot use their Heroic Ability.
Always clone. Make fights a 5v5, except you don't lose anything major when you die because you can still assist. Your goal with clone is to clone someone who has strong basic abilities (Greymane, Li Ming, Jaina) and then try to trade 1 for 1. If you die you can still heal and do damage.
Soma Transference
Symbiote's Spike Burst heals the host for 64 Health per enemy Hero hit.
Boom your tanks are unkillable in fights now and your divers are going to be very difficult to deal with.
Adrenaline Boost
Symbiote's Carapace increases the Movement Speed of the target by 40% for 3.5 seconds.
Now your divers have an escape and your tanks have an engage.
Symbiote creates an additional Symbiote on a nearby allied Hero. This Symbiote mimics the commands of the first, but does half damage and shielding.
Now you can speed up 2 people at a time and rip through their team.
