Hey y'all! I'm Mochrie (pronounced Mock-ree), and I'm a competitor for Scythe Esports and the University of Houston. Often called the #1 Tracer in the world by both myself AND my mother, I love to play Tracer whenever I can. HOWEVER, I can't always get her, because enemy teams are big doo-doo-heads who ban my hero out. Thus, I need a fallback. This is where my trusty Hanzo comes into play.



This build IS NOT THE ABSOLUTELY OPTIMAL BUILD. It is, however, very easy/simple to play if you have decent positioning, and excels at carrying in anything less than top-level coordinated play. NotParadox did a very strong analysis that I highly endorse for its accuracy here. If you want 100% optimal builds,

Redemption
Quest: Every 2 Basic Attacks against the same Hero within 10 seconds grants 1 Redemption, stacking up to 12. Dying decreases Redemption by 3, and Redemption can be lost even at maximum stacks. Reward: At 12 Redemption, gain 50% Attack Speed.
Keep strong positioning, farm stacks off enemy frontline when safe, get a bunch of stacks in the mid-lane brawl at level 1 if possible.

Ignore All Distractions
Basic Attacks instantly kill Minions and increase Hanzo's Basic Attack range by 2 for 3 seconds.
Great w/ Redemption for fast, mana-free clear. Even if your team has 0 idea what macro is, you can double soak no problem.

Sharpened Arrowheads
Hitting a Hero with Storm Bow or Basic Attacks reduces their Armor by 2 for 3 seconds, up to a maximum reduction of 20 Armor.
Never Outmatched is easily higher DPS, but Sharpened Arrowheads is brainless + strong 1v1 + counters high armor heroes.

Dragon's Arrow
Fire a missile that travels across the battleground. Explodes upon hitting an enemy Hero, dealing 100 damage to all nearby enemies and Stunning them for 0.5 seconds. After traveling a medium distance, the damage is increased to 200 and the Stun duration to 1.25 seconds. After traveling a long distance, the damage is increased to 350 and the Stun duration to 2 seconds.
Shoot this over walls/from out of vision. Also allows you to contribute while covering soak for your noob SL teammates.

Fleet of Foot
Hitting a Hero with Storm Bow grants 10 Movement Speed for 6 seconds, up to 30%.
Fleet of Foot and Ninja Assassin are both great. I like the movement speed for being able to maintain constantly good position for AA spam, but both work.

Flawless Technique
Hitting Heroes with Storm Bow increases the damage of Hanzo's next Basic Attack within 5 seconds by 40%. Basic Attacks against Heroes increase the damage of Hanzo's next Storm Bow within 5 seconds by 40%.
Flawless is a big boost to your single target, and imo this is the only build you don't go Piercing Arrows in.

Play of the Game
While in flight or for up to 2 seconds after impacting a target, Dragon's Arrow can be reactivated to teleport its location and jump backwards. If used after impact, Hanzo shoots arrows that deal 120 damage to each target hit by the impact. Hanzo is Unstoppable during Play of the Game.
POTG and Bullseye are both good. POTG enables great positioning for perfect Dragon's Arrows + global presence, and Bullseye follows up on stuns super well and gives you another channel interrupt.
